Here in the office, we just learned that our boss, Cal Simmons, (aka www.Cals-List.com founder) was on the first descent of the Zambezi River in Africa. WOW.
Inspired by the spirit of real adventure, here are 4 adventure tours you definitely want to add to your travel inspiration board.
Zambezi River, Africa
Bundu Adventures is known as the gold standard for White Water Rafting on the Zambezi River. The 5/5 star reviewed white water rafting attraction is claimed to offer some of the best rafting river in the world. Those who have rafted through Bundu Adventures agree: with over 20 years of operation, Bundu’s adrenaline filled activities through Victoria Falls are moments you do not want to miss. If rafting 3-5 level rapids isn’t your thing, they also offer Kayaking, Canoeing and other activities such as swimming under Victoria Falls and a few hours of hydro surfing.
There is truly something for every adventurer! If an afternoon on the water isn’t enough, consider booking one of their overnight raft safaris!
Poison Spider Bicycle
Based in the mecca for mountain biking, Poison Spider Bicycle has year-round bike rides through the mystical mountains of Moab, Utah. They offer novice, intermediate and advanced options to suit any rider. If you need to brush off your biking skills or prefer to ride with a professional guide, Bike School and guided tours are available. Also, don’t worry about jamming a bike helmet in your checked bag, they provide all the necessary safety equipment.
At Poison Spider Bicycle, you are not just renting a bike and taking off into the desert… you have the ability to make your experience as social (maybe opt for a guided group tour) or as independent as you would like. Whether it is a 17.7-mile loop or 1.6-mile practice loop to get you warmed up, the knowledgeable staff will give you tips and advice to get you started. Now, gear up and get out – ride Moab!
Also in Utah, the beautiful Zion National Park awaits. Zion Guru, a tour company specializing in hiking and canyoneering in the park is lead by Jonathan Zambella, who was the first to open a canyoneering business in Zion National Park. For those of you unfamiliar with canyoneering, it is the combination of hiking, climbing, rappelling and desert passages amidst – you guessed it – canyons.
This might sound intimidating to a beginner, but Zion Guru has tours that range from beginner to expert. During the descents, you might even get to take a dip in the many swimming areas.
If you’ve already swam, hiked, climbed, and rappelled the park and are looking for a new way to experience it, try practicing Yoga or capturing the vast landscape with your camera on their photography tour.
How does freefalling at 120 miles per hour through the atmosphere sound? Not everyone equates Dubai with skydiving, but if you’re looking for your next bucket list activity, look no further. Skydive Dubai provides tandem skydiving (you are attached to an experienced instructor), a school to help learn to skydive solo, and a whole variety of experiences to do for those who are experienced including flight school and training! Skydive Dubai can show willing adventurers breathtaking views of the dunes or the amazing Palm Jumeirah Island from a new and unprecedented perspective.
If the promise of aerial views hasn’t calmed you, the entire team at Skydive Dubai will do their best to make your experience as enjoyable as possible and settle any last second nerves. If your friends don’t believe you or you just want to relive your experience, the staff will record your jump! Documenting these once-in-a-lifetime jumps is a must and a hilarious memory to share online.
Skydiving in Dubai is a must-try, so much so that Skydive Dubai has been nominated for the Middle East’s Leading Adventure Tourist Attraction in both 2018 and 2019 by the World Travel Awards. Ready to take the leap?
